„Innovation in the manufacture of printing production focused on improving business productivity (INOGAM)“.
Project description: The aim of the project is implementing the production innovations that would increase the company's Aurika business productivity and competitiveness. New technologies would allow reducing production costs and enabling the company to expand it product range, to increase the production capacity and improve the currently proposed product quality characteristics. UAB Aurika operates in both internal (Lithuania), and foreign printing industry markets (in 2008 the export growth target is 37%). Fierce competition increases the pressure to offer high quality products at competitive prices, so Aurika company seeks to install equipment that would enable the use of advantages offered by economies of scale. Instability of commodity prices used by the company leads to the need to use less raw material-intensive technologies. The most important results of the project INOGAM: growth of the quality of production and general production volumes (three times). The production cost will decrease by ~ 6-8 percent. (raw material consumption level ~ 4-6 percent/product unit). Assumptions appear to expand the export volumes and geography. The output of existing products will increase (wrap up labels – three times, flexible packaging - 2 times). An existing product– inmould (IML) labels –will be modified. This will allow starting the production of new products (wrap up and shrinkable labels, flexible packaging films, laminates). We plan to purchase the equipment, which is covered by the existing EU CE certificates. The CE (in French, "Conform Européenne”) marking indicates that the product is safe, appropriate to use and environmentally friendly. As such, Aurika will contribute to the implementation of environmental protection priorities. Target groups of the INOGAM project are Lithuanian and foreign producers operating in the food, beverage, chemical, cosmetics and construction materials industries. Innovative software installation will enable UAB Aurika to offer labels and packaging that are visually more attractive, adaptable to various types of products and their quantities. Not only they will solve the problems of producers, but will also be attractive to the end user.
UAB Aurika export geography expansion in 2009-2010
Project description: UAB Aurika is the biggest manufacturer of labels in the Baltic countries, which further development and growth of the competitiveness are related to the growth of the company‘s export. The company needs the EU support for export initiatives that will enable to deliver new products to prospective buyers in the EU and third country markets. Aurika product quality is recognized by awards and has the potential to become widely known in Europe, thereby contributing to the company's productivity and the trans-national Lithuanian printing industry growth. Statistical indicators over the last half of the year only further justify the need for export development. In December 2008, compared with November, Lithuania's exports dropped down by 15 percent. During the 1st quarter of 2008, Lithuanian printing industry's exports compared with the 1st quarter of 2008, plummeted by 16.6%. In addition, there was an extremely significant fall in domestic consumption volumes. In this context, productivity and further growth of the company requires finding new trading partners. Currently, Aurika exports to eight countries, but the vision of development includes priority markets - Germany, Ukraine and Scandinavia, where the biggest growth prospects are seen. This period is very conducive to increasing the production export, since potential customers are actively interested in good quality cheaper products from the new EU producers. Given the current situation efforts are made to exploit the possibilities of presenting Aurika products in new markets. The project targeted development geography is chosen according to the submitted analysis of the Lithuanian printing industry strategy which identified the most promising markets, namely Germany, Scandinavia and the CIS countries (including Ukraine).
