Considering the safety of food consumers and progressively stiffening standards regulating it, UAB Aurika has started to use an ink for labels and flexible packaging, which is specially designed for use in manufacturing the packaging for food products. The Company, which has been using only EU certified raw materials during the whole period of its activity, is glad to offer you one more printing solution, which has recently appeared on the flexographic printing market.

The ink features a particularly low migration of constituents into food products. This allows to secure the safety of food products while they are in direct contact with the printed surface of the packaging. The EU Directive No. 1935/2004 demands that materials and articles which in their finished state are intended to come into direct contact with foods must not transfer their constituents into foodstuffs in quantities, which could endanger human health or bring about an inacceptable change in the essential product characteristics.

The printing ink used for printing labels and flex packaging usually does not come into direct contact with foods, however, the new ink line, as the producer states, complies with the above mentioned EU Directive No. 1935/2004. Besides, the new ink for flexographic printing meets all the technical quality requirements and can be used for printing both on paper and on plastic films.

“A considerable part of our customers are producers of food products or companies developing activities in the field of food packaging. Their experience of facing the stiffening standards regulating the food packaging gave us an impulse to search for new solutions. We hope that this solution will help them to conform to increasing requirements,” the sales executive of UAB Aurika Lina Kvietkauskaitė says.

UAB Aurika, which started its activity in 1991, is one of the largest labels and flex packaging manufacturer in the Baltic States and is working to find optimal solutions for sticky labels and packaging. All the equipment, materials and accessories in use comply with the most severe European Union quality standards – the Company has ISO 9001:2000 certificate.
