The newest specialized software allows preparing of especially qualitative models for flexographic print. It not only guarantees print quality but also facilitates a lot the work of designers. Growth possibilities of flexographic print can better satisfy the most complex wishes of designers and marketing specialists. Flexographic print allows better improvement of product “appearance”, distinguishing it from the others. Therefore artistic and technical formation of product image becomes more and more important before the beginning of print works. That is:

Now I would like to talk more broadly about technical preparation of models for flexographic print. Several specialized programme packages are created in the world, which help designers and technical editors to implement as exactly as possible the ideas of marketing specialist when creating product label or package. One of such systems is firm ESKO GRAPHICS system SCOPE, applied for post-it labels preparation for print. It opens many new possibilities for designers, which do not exist in the popular graphic-programme packages. Programme module used in our company consists of the program for work with vectorial graphics, program for work with raster graphics, online modules database and system of modules affirmation with the customers.

 

Program for work with vectorial graphics is distinguished by unique conversion, edition and colour revise possibilities. This program allows the designer seeing the model in the screen in layers, according to objects, colour channels or according to concrete colours. It is possible to see the picture both in positive and in negative.

 

Import filters also give many possibilities. Program supports many popular formats of vectorial and raster files. It is especially relevant when accepting the models from the customers, made by various software and computer platform. When opening the models it can be seen and, if needed, edited thorough information about the model‘s colour channels, their lines system, raster‘s rotation angles, etc. Also, when opening the model it is possible to optimize vectorial graphics, delete the unnecessary vectors, elements, which will not be seen in the print, to optimize the quality of raster pictures (dpi), convert founts into graphs. It is also possible to change the number of colour channels or their colour, and the program, when opening the model, will optimize the rest colour channels according to the made change. After such change the picture remains especially close to the original. This is especially relevant in two aspects: 

When working with vectorial graphics the tools of vectors alignment, segmentation, joining and clean-up of scanned pictures are very useful. For example, set of deformation tools enables to interactively deform various places of the model. This is especially relevant when preparing the models for qualitative print on thermo-shrinking film.  

 

When preparing the models with ordinary programs, many technical editors face the problem of execution of qualitative colour trappings among the vectorial elements of the model. And trappings among raster and vectorial elements are usually impossible to make exactly at all. However, this software allows doing this all especially precisely. Trapping module analyzes the model and gives the operator all places, in which colour trappings must be made. All colour trappings and colour retraction are placed in separate layer, which, if needed, can be deleted; in addition, trappings both in vectorial and in raster elements of the model are seen in colours and in such way as they will be in print. This helps the designer and the customers to more precisely coordinate the possibilities and wishes.  

 

Raster pictures design and correction program has many tools, which apply the pictures for printing with flexographic print machines. One of the most important is ink switch, which enables changing of color channels into Pantone colours, automatically adapting the rest channels according to the change in order the received picture would be as close as possible to the original or it would give brightness, contrast.

 

Online model database and system of models affirmation with the customers is a comfortable tool for designer’s communication via Internet with the customers and other persons, together creating the product. Model can be corrected and affirmed in real time, all changes are stored in database. Due to this possibility of errors decreases.
